As good as it gets
As you may have gathered from this site's layout, when it comes to webdesign I'm a fairly conservative guy. My excuse for this tends to focus on webstandards, cross-browser compatibility and the groovyness of viewing my website on my phone. I'm also a programming kind of guy. Likes: stuff that works, reliability, Dislikes: surprises. Basically what I'm trying to say is using anything fancier than an image link makes me distinctly uncomfortable.
Someone not quite as burdened by fear of new technology and a lot more adept at design in general and css in particular is Mykl. If you ever get depressed reading about floating margin bugs, webstandards from 1999 that are almost implemented and the beautiful mess that is javascript, check out his latest project: SoChef.
Click on the search bar and see the results slide down, check out the stylised images, notice the text? See how you can select it? Now just for fun, if you're using firefox (yes) with the webdeveloper toolbar installed (maybe), press ctrl-shift-s to remove the css formatting. The result? Still readable! Usable! Coolness for sure?

If you wish to add code to your comment you can use code tags, like this: <code class="php">yourCodeHere</code>.
Quite a large number of languages are supported, although I can't guarantee it'll be pretty. Inside the code tags you can use any characters except for the string "</code>".
